On October 15, 2026, SBI Card and Eternal Limited (Zomato's parent company) officially launched the co-branded Eternal SBI Card. Early access is open right now through the Zomato, Blinkit and District apps, and cards start rolling out in phases from October 22, 2026.
The launch announcement gave us the headline numbers. In the days since, the fine print has filled in: who is eligible, the exact early-access application steps, the forex markup, the fuel waiver limits, and what you pay if you revolve your balance or miss a due date. This is the full picture, figure by figure, with every number sourced.
A correction first, because we would rather own it than hide it: in our October 14 teaser story, we dismissed "Eternal" as a partner candidate on the grounds that it is food delivery, not coffee. Wrong call. The card is literally named after Eternal. One mystery remains open though. The October 13 teaser was coffee-themed, and nothing in this launch mentions coffee anywhere. So the coffee card, if it is real, is probably a separate product still to come. We are still watching for it.
What the card offers
| Where you spend | What you get | Monthly cap |
|---|---|---|
| Zomato, District, Bistro, Blinkit (electronics and beauty) | 10% instant discount | Rs 2,000 combined |
| Blinkit (all other eligible categories) | 5% instant discount | Rs 2,000 combined (shared cap) |
| Uber, ixigo, Urban Company, Apollo 24/7 | 5% cashback, auto-credited to your statement | Rs 1,000 |
| All other eligible spends | 1% cashback, auto-credited to your statement | Rs 500 |
| Movie tickets on the District app | Buy 1 get 1 | Up to Rs 200 off the second ticket |
| Fuel | 1% surcharge waiver | Up to Rs 200 per statement cycle |
The welcome benefit is a 6-month Zomato Gold membership on card activation, on payment of the Rs 499 joining fee.
Three things worth knowing about these benefits. First, the discounts on Eternal's own platforms apply over and above existing platform offers, as per the official press release, so they stack with ongoing app deals. Second, the Blinkit discount has confirmed exclusions: tobacco products, infant food and feeding products, and precious-metal jewellery earn nothing. Third, the 1% base cashback excludes fuel, wallet loads, rent, taxes, insurance, jewellery, education, utilities, gaming and EMI transactions, so it applies only to clean retail spends.
The fine print, now confirmed
| Item | Confirmed figure |
|---|---|
| Forex markup on international spends | 3.5% |
| Fuel surcharge waiver | 1%, up to Rs 200 per statement cycle, on fuel spends of Rs 500 to Rs 4,000 |
| Finance charges if you revolve | 3.75% per month (45% per annum) |
| Late payment charges | Nil up to Rs 100 outstanding; Rs 100 above Rs 100 to Rs 500; Rs 500 above Rs 500 to Rs 1,000; Rs 750 above Rs 1,000 to Rs 10,000; Rs 950 above Rs 10,000 to Rs 25,000; Rs 1,100 above Rs 25,000 to Rs 50,000; Rs 1,300 above Rs 50,000 |

On sourcing: the 3.5% forex markup is confirmed across multiple outlets quoting official documentation. The fuel spend band, finance charges and late-fee slabs are as listed on Paisabazaar's card page. The full MITC document is still not on sbicard.com, so treat that as the final word when it lands and we will re-verify every third-party figure against it.
Who can apply
| Criterion | Requirement |
|---|---|
| Salaried applicants | 21 to 60 years of age |
| Self-employed applicants | 25 to 65 years of age |
| Credit history | A good credit score is preferred |
| Address | Permanent Indian address with a serviceable PIN code |
This eligibility list comes from the Zomato app's own FAQ page for the card, as reported by LiveMint. Final approval always depends on SBI Card's checks, and requesting early access does not guarantee the card.
How to apply: the early access steps
1. Open your logged-in Zomato, Blinkit or District app. 2. Tap the "Eternal SBI Credit Card" banner at the top of the home screen. 3. Read the information page, then tap the red "Request early access" button. 4. Confirm your registered mobile number and enter your name exactly as it appears on your Aadhaar card. 5. When invitations open in phases from October 22, apply through the app or the SBI Card website. Onboarding is fully digital. 6. Track your application on the Card Management page inside the app. The physical card reaches your registered address in 7 to 10 business days.
The fee
| Fee | Amount |
|---|---|
| Joining fee | Rs 499 |
| Annual (renewal) fee | Rs 499, waived on Rs 2 lakh annual spend |
Count 18% GST on top, which takes the real first-year cost to about Rs 589. The card comes on both Mastercard and RuPay. If paying by UPI with a credit card matters to you, pick the RuPay variant, since RuPay credit cards work on UPI.
Is it worth Rs 499? Do the maths
The 10% bucket stops growing after Rs 20,000 of monthly spend on those apps, because that is where the Rs 2,000 cap hits. Most people will never get near the cap. A realistic month looks like this:
| Monthly spend | You save |
|---|---|
| Zomato orders of Rs 4,000 (10%) | Rs 400 |
| Blinkit groceries of Rs 3,000 (5%) | Rs 150 |
| Uber rides of Rs 2,000 (5%) | Rs 100 |
| Total | Rs 650 a month, Rs 7,800 a year |
Against a Rs 589 fee (with GST), that is a comfortable win. Even a light user spending just Rs 1,500 a month on Zomato saves Rs 150 a month, or Rs 1,800 a year, which is more than triple the fee. The fee only starts to hurt if you barely use these apps, and this card was never meant for that person.
The natural rival is HDFC's Swiggy co-branded cards. On paper the Eternal card is aggressive: 10% on its home apps plus 5% across Blinkit. Which one wins for you comes down to one honest question: do you order more on Zomato or on Swiggy? Pick the card that matches the app already on your home screen.
What is still not announced
Two gaps remain. First, lounge access: nothing has been announced, and at a Rs 499 fee tier the card sits well below SBI Card's lounge-eligible card tiers, so do not expect any. Second, the full MITC document is still not on sbicard.com. When it lands, we will re-verify every figure in this article against it.
