Best Lifetime Free Credit Cards in India

Updated Oct 2026

Lifetime free means there is no annual fee to pay, ever, and no spend target to hit for a waiver. It does not mean the card costs nothing to use: interest, late fees and GST on charges still apply, and reward caps still limit what you earn. These are the cards our audited data marks as lifetime free, ranked by score.

How to Choose

Zero fee changes the break-even maths completely. A paid card must earn back its fee plus 18% GST before it profits you; a lifetime free card earns from the first rupee, even in months when you barely spend. For a first card, or a backup card for offers, that safety is hard to beat.

The trade-off sits in the reward rate and the caps. Free cards usually pay a lower headline rate, restrict accelerated rewards to a few categories, or cap monthly earnings. Compare the rate you will actually get on your top two spending categories, not the best-case number in the advertisement.

Also look at what else is missing. Many free cards skip lounge access, charge a higher forex markup for international use, or pay rewards as points with a low conversion value. If you travel often, one paid card with lounge access and low forex markup can quietly save more than a free card earns. Open the detailed review of each card and check the fee table and MITC notes before applying.
