Kiwi is built for one behaviour: paying by UPI. The RuPay card, issued by YES BANK for most new applicants, links to apps like Google Pay, PhonePe and Paytm, and every Scan and Pay transaction earns a flat 1.5% cashback that lands directly in your bank account, not as points or coins. The card is virtual first, lifetime free, and managed entirely in the Kiwi app. The optional Neon membership at Rs 999 plus GST a year lifts UPI cashback to 2%, and to 5% once your annual spends cross Rs 1.5 lakh, along with 3 lounge accesses. Do the maths on your own UPI volume first: below roughly Rs 50,000 of yearly UPI spends, the free tier is the better deal.
