SBI Card Teases New Coffee-Themed Credit Card: Coming Soon
SBI Card Teases New Coffee-Themed Credit Card: Coming Soon

SBI Card is brewing something new. On October 13, 2026, the official SBI Card X account (@SBICard_Connect) posted a short teaser video with the line: "Your everyday sips are about to come with something extra. Coming soon! #SBICard"

That is the entire announcement so far. No card name, no fees, no benefits, no launch date. Just coffee and "coming soon". Here is what the teaser actually tells us, and what it does not.

What the teaser shows

The video shows espresso being extracted from a portafilter machine into a white ceramic cup, set against a cafe background with a wooden counter. The SBI Card logo sits in the corner of the frame. The message is hard to misread: coffee is the theme.

The phrase "everyday sips" is doing some work here. It points at daily coffee drinkers, not occasional cafe visitors. Whatever this card is, it seems built around habitual cafe spending.

What this likely means

SBI Card has been launching co-branded cards at a fast pace. In the first half of October 2026 alone, it rolled out two grocery cards with Nature's Basket and a co-branded card with Bank of Maharashtra. A coffee-themed card fits that pattern neatly: either a partnership with a coffee chain or a dining-focused card with accelerated rewards at cafes.

That is informed reading of the pattern, not a confirmed fact. SBI Card has not named any partner.

Who could the partner be? (Pure speculation)

Nobody outside SBI Card knows the answer. Since everyone is guessing, here is an honest look at the names coming up online, and how much sense each one actually makes.

CandidateWhy it makes senseWhy it might not
Starbucks (Tata Starbucks)India's most premium coffee brand; a card built around "everyday sips" fits premium daily drinkersStarbucks guards its brand closely and already runs its own rewards program
Tim HortonsExpanding aggressively across India; a co-branded card would help lock in regularsStill a smaller footprint than Starbucks in India
Cafe Coffee DayHomegrown pioneer with a huge outlet network; "everyday sips" matches its mass-market positioningThe company has faced financial troubles in recent years, making a big new partnership less certain

Two names you will see in speculation threads that make less sense here: Nescafe is a packaged coffee brand, not a cafe chain, so a card partnership is a stretch. "Eternal" (Zomato's parent company) is food delivery, not coffee. Treat those as guesses, not signals.

Read this section for what it is: speculation. SBI Card has confirmed none of it, and the partner could just as easily be no one, with SBI Card building dining rewards on its own.

What we still do not know

Honesty first. As of today, all of this is unannounced:

We will update this article when SBI Card shares official details, and every figure will come from the issuer's MITC document, not from speculation.

Should you wait for it?

If you buy coffee every day, a card built around cafe spending could be genuinely useful. But do not pause a card decision you need today for a teaser with no date. Teaser-to-launch can take weeks, and the rewards may or may not beat what you already hold.
